If you’re looking for a new way to have fun with your family, rock climbing or bouldering might be just the answer! Rock climbing is a more structured activity that will teach kids and adults alike how to tackle any obstacle in their lives. Bouldering can be done without equipment, so it’s great for beginners who want to get their feet wet.

Climbing gyms appeal to people who want an alternative to traditional forms of exercise, people who want to take their fitness routine to a new level, or those who can’t climb outside because of weather constraints.

Here are some fantastic spots in Singapore where you can find the best climbing wall gyms:

1. Clip n’ Climb

With 19 different climbing walls and an exciting array of games, there really is something for everyone. You can spend hours playing on their Tetris wall or one that looks like strands of DNA.

If you want to up the ante and compete with your child, take them on their glass wall which will allow you to climb face-to-face. Prices start from $18 for members while non-members pay $25 for a 90-minute session (though they also offer Laser Quest). They also provide safety harnesses and shoes so it doesn’t feel like such a daunting experience.

2. Kinetics Climbing

Kinetics Climbing has a small bouldering gym tucked away in Serangoon that’s suitable for both beginners and those with experience. This gym regularly switches up its climbing routes so you can expect varied paths to explore every time you visit. There’s also a top-rope wall and other courses available from experiential climbing to personal coaching. Day passes start from $12 for students and $17 for adults.

3. SAFRA Adventure Sports Centre

It’s the one-stop destination in Singapore if you’re looking to get on rock! Climbers can enjoy climbs ranging from quick, easy routes to challenging overhangs while families will love the fun abseiling and canopy walk onsite.

This 25-metre outdoor rock wall offers Singapore’s most variety when it comes to routes and difficulty levels. There are 15-metre sport climbing walls, 18-metres slab wall, 18-metres chimney and crack walls. For those of you who want something more challenging but just aren’t ready yet for real cliffs can try their chalky hands at the crack wall or abseiling.

And wait, there’s more – another massive indoor bouldering gym ready to take your climber instincts into double digits.

4.  Climbers Laboratory

If you’re looking for a fun adventure that’ll have all your family members on the edge of their seats, then head over to Climbers Laboratory. This is an augmented reality (AR) climbing experience where you can choose from different challenges and race against the clock. The best part about this place though is that it doesn’t compromise on the fun at all–you’ll be able to climb walls with quirky cartoon characters or lego bricks!

This awesome sport is also no stranger to Singaporeans. With gyms sprouting up everywhere over recent years with courses catering to every level of experience, there are plenty of reasons why you should be getting your hands dirty and get climbing!
